Reflections and progress

Ms Zungu reflected on the partners meeting held in February of 2023 where OJA ‘s strategy plan was presented along with the changes that were to be implemented. A number of organisations were acknowledged to be complying with the new changes and those who are still yet to commit fully were encouraged to comply.

Strengthening Communication

Organisations raised their concerns about poor communication; mitigation process; delayed responses on queries and requests and requested clarity on some lease agreements clause and the insurance liability for the beneficiaries.

The Director acknowledged the concerns and committed to improving OJA internal systems for the betterment of the partnership. She emphasized that for the beneficiary relationship to work effectively, OJA also needs to understand the challenges faced by each organisation.

This process of mutual cooperation and growth is essential for the people that these organisations serve by strengthening communication and sharing their reports, events that
will be conducted and success and stories that OJA can share on its social media platforms.

“We all need to tighten our belts and work smarter”, Zungu explains. “People have less money to spend and when they donate, they want to know where it is going.”
