Message from OJA Director Sayinile Zungu for Human Rights Day, 21 March 2025

As we commemorate Human Rights Day, we reflect on the sacrifices made by those who fought for our liberation and the rights we enjoy today. The Sharpeville Massacre of 1960 serves as a poignant reminder of the struggles against apartheid and the importance of protecting human rights for all.

At Operation Jumpstart Association, we are committed to promoting social justice and equality in our communities. We honour the past by working towards a future where every individual can live with dignity and respect. Let us reaffirm our commitment to upholding the principles of human rights, justice, and reconciliation today and every day.

Together, we can build a society that values diversity and ensures that all people have their basic needs met. Let us continue to strive for a South Africa where freedom and prosperity are accessible to everyone.

Wishing you a meaningful Human Rights Day.

Operation Jumpstart Association NPC (est in 1992) is a grantmaker, working to improve the lives of vulnerable communities in KwaZulu-Natal through the provision of infrastructural support.
