Women’s Day Message 2026 from Ms Sayinile Zungu, Director, Operation Jumpstart Association NPC

As we commemorate South African Women’s Day, we pause to honour the remarkable women whose courage, resilience, and sacrifice shaped the history of our nation.

We remember the thousands of brave women who marched to the Union Buildings in 1956 to demand justice, dignity, and equality. Their legacy continues to inspire us to build a South Africa where every woman has the opportunity to thrive.

This year’s theme, “Empowered Women Empower The Nation”; reminds us that when women are given opportunities to lead, learn, work, and flourish, families are strengthened, communities are transformed, and our nation becomes more prosperous and
compassionate.

At Operation Jumpstart Association NPC, we witness every day the extraordinary impact of women who serve selflessly in our communities. We salute the mothers who nurture their
families despite enormous challenges, the grandmothers raising grandchildren, the caregivers who comfort the vulnerable, the teachers who shape young minds, the healthcare
workers who preserve life, the entrepreneurs who create opportunities, the social workers, volunteers, pastors, and community leaders whose dedication gives hope to countless South Africans.

We also recognise the many women who continue to face poverty, unemployment, abuse, discrimination, and inequality. As a nation, we cannot celebrate Women’s Day without renewing our commitment to creating safer communities, promoting equal opportunities, and ensuring that every woman and girl can live with dignity, freedom, and hope.

Operation Jumpstart Association NPC remains committed to partnering with organizations that provide shelter, care, counselling, and support to vulnerable children, survivors of
gender-based violence, older persons, and communities in need.

We believe that investing in organizations that uplift women and families is an investment in the future of South Africa.

To every woman across our beautiful country: your strength inspires us, your compassion changes lives, and your leadership builds a better tomorrow. Whether your contributions are
seen by many or known only to those closest to you, they matter. You are making a difference.

As we celebrate Women’s Day, let us continue working together to empower women through education, economic opportunities, leadership development, healthcare, and community support. When women are empowered, families are strengthened.

When families are strengthened, communities flourish. And when communities flourish, our nation prospers.

On behalf of the Board and staff of Operation Jumpstart Association NPC, I extend our heartfelt appreciation and best wishes to every woman in South Africa.

May you continue to walk in strength, wisdom, courage, and hope.

Happy Women’s Day!

She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. — Proverbs 31:25
